In the years since the definitive René Magritte catalogue raisonné was published, research on the Belgian surrealist has resulted in new discoveries about his work. Following the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the artist’s death, Musebooks has created The Complete Magritte Online, a dynamic update to the out-of-print books. Black-and-white photography will be replaced with new color images and updated technical information will appear alongside each painting. Magritte Online will be launched in November 2018, with planned updates to follow in 2019 and as new research becomes available.
Art historian Julie Waseige is the principal researcher, under the direction of Sarah Whitfield, co-author (with David Sylvester) of the printed catalogue raisonné and member of the Magritte Foundation Authentication Committee.
Major support for The Complete Magritte Online is provided by the King Baudouin Foundation.
Pre-order your copy of The Complete Magritte Online now at a discounted rate of only $199. Prices go up in 2019.
